What do we do?
Operating within the real estate marketplace, BushbankSA provides for ongoing, long term protection and conservation to valuable areas of remnant native vegetation.

BushbankSA buys high value native vegetation from owners who are either not interested or unable to adequately manage the native vegetation. It then sells the land, with a Heritage Agreement, to new owners who care about protecting bushland.

BushbankSA has been established as a niche within the real estate market place specialising in high quality conservation land, particularly where that land supports endangered or threatened species.
Bushbank is a place where owners of land can seek to sell and where those interested in a bushland block to care for, can come to buy.

BushbankSA is developing sound business relationships with the rural real estate industry, a key player vital for making connections between sellers buyers and the new conservation land marketplace.

BushbankSA will build strong links to Local Government to develop innovative land use policies that will improve the viability of conservation.

BushbankSA enables the Nature Foundation SA to:
identify available privately owned land supporting native vegetation of particular biodiversity value
with professional, scientific assistance from the South Australian Government, assess the suitability of the native vegetation for a nature conservation covenant, that is a Heritage Agreement
prepare a management plan for the land protected under the Heritage Agreement;
sell the land to owners interested in, and capable of, ongoing conservation management and assist them in its stewardship.
