Selection Criteria
Bushbank investigates the availability of and acquires land that meets one or more of the selection criteria (outlined below), reflecting national environmental conservation significance and other relevant matters, noting that the combination of factors will vary with individual properties and that these criteria may be used to prioritise land purchases.

The Criteria Includes:
The extent that the property meets the criteria used by the Native Vegetation Council in determining the significance of an area for protection as a Nature Foundation Heritage Agreement;
The extent to which the property contains significant wildlife and habitat conservation values, or contains nationally endangered or threatened ecological communities or species;
The extent to which the property contains wetlands of international significance;
sell the land to owners interested in, and capable of, ongoing conservation management and assist them in its stewardship.
The extent to which the property supports migratory species that are listed under the schedules of international agreements/conventions to which Australia is a signatory;
The extent to which the property contains areas of biodiversity conservation significance and contributes to the conservation of adjoining or downstream areas of conservation significance;
The extent to which the property contains native vegetation with high State conservation priority or other special values, such as high-localised endemism;
The potential for maintaining ecological viability and integrity of those populations, species and communities for which the land is being considered;
Continuity and context including proximity to World Heritage and other protected areas;
The extent to which the property contains ecological communities or ecosystems that are under-reserved within the public reserve system; and
The extent to which the property is subject to levels of threat and degradation pressures, for example from surrounding land use or planned land use, weeds, feral animals, inappropriate fire management or grazing intensity.
