Croser's Scrub
 

The property is located 15 Km’s SW of Minlaton on Yorke Peninsula. It comprises 181 hectares of which 128 hectares mallee vegetation and 53 hectares of cleared barley cropping land. Croser’s Scrub is protected under a Nature Foundation heritage agreement which supports a high diversity of native flora and represents one of the largest remaining refuges for native fauna on the central Yorke Peninsula.

The woodland has a rich ground cover of velvet bush and holly leaved Grevillea with large Yaccas scattered throughout. In the springtime, Croser’s scrub comes alive with an abundance of wildflowers that provides for delightful walks through the bush.

Site assessments have revealed 77 flora species with 26 plant species of regional conservation significance, including 2 species that are rated rare in South Australia. Endangered species on the Yorke Peninsula include Tate’s Grass Tree (Xanthhorrhoea semiplana ssp tateana) and the Rough Emu Bush (Eremophila behrianna). 17 bird species of conservation significance have also been observed on the property.

Other highlights are the 17 different orchid species that have been identified on the property including the Mallee Shell Orchid, Wallflower Donkey Orchid, Little Donkey Orchid, and the Yellow Tuft Sun Orchid to name a few.

Provisions have been made for the purchaser to build a dwelling on the property in order to fully enjoy the beauty of Croser’s scrub and the surrounding attractions. The property is only roughly 25km’s from Hardwicke Bay, Point Turton and the stunning Flaherty’s Beach to the west and 20 km’s away from Stansbury to the east.As the new owner, you will protect the property’s conservation values in perpetuity by accepting the conservation covenant and managing the land in accordance with a detailed management plan specific to this property.
